Habitat OS

The aim of this course is to understand how the human habitat, in the nearest scales (housing, building and community) can transformed in a self-sufficient habitat.
To this end students must study all the layers that allow the habitat and design create an operating system for its management.

The aim is to define the principles and rules of “living as a service” in buildings of the 21st century based on the idea of local production resources, social interaction and the use of Internet of things.
The layers to be analyzed will be: Information, Energy, Water, Matter, Food, Mobility, Nature, Limits, Welfare, Community and Traceability.

Students must analyze the different systems and develop an operating system, such as an information platform, to assess the functioning of the building and connect with their immediate environment.
