The concept and idea was the traditional islamic jali pattern which was modified to increase the bending distance travelled to achieve the appropriate amount of kerfing.There was difficulty in achieving the kerfing so the patterns were rotated and scaled accordingly.

The challenge was not only to bend the wooden sheet but also to give it particular amount of twisting.This was done for all the pieces to avoid the direct light and light passes thro the pattern created.
