MRAC at Rob|Arch 2018: Robotic Fabrication in Architecture, Art, and Design
ROB|ARCH 2018: Robotic Fabrication in Architecture, Art, and Design is taking place this week, hosted by ETH Zurich, with the aim of gathering international experts and researchers in the field of architecture, structural design, engineering, and robotics.
IAAC’s Master in Robotics and Advanced Construction Directors Alexandre Dubor and Aldo Sollazzo will join the conference this Friday to talk about “On Site Robotics for Sustainable Construction” in the “Control and Fabrication” debate session.
The ROB|ARCH conference series is a collaborative effort between the co-hosting universities, industry partners, and the Association for Robots in Architecture. The ROB|ARCH conference series aims to allow practitioners to share expertise, to bring together teams of international researchers, to foster networks, to increase knowledge, and to stimulate innovation.
Several IAAC projects have also been selected to be displayed in the screens of the conference venue including the Robotic Facade made in collaboration with Ceramica Cumella together with the outcomes of the Open Thesis Fabrication Programme 2016 and 2017, the Master in Advanced Architecture Wood UpCycling Seminar and the Global Summer School 2018.
