IAAC at In(3D)ustry – From Needs to Solutions
From 21st to 23rd June, 2016 the Gran Via Exhibition Centre in Barcelona, Fira Barcelona will host the premiere of In(3D)ustry – From Needs to Solutions. This is a new international event focusing on the current state and future of Additive and Advanced Manufacturing.
This event will be a global hub bringing together all components of the Additive Manufacturing ecosystem to showcase the latest technology and innovation.
The event will host the In(3D)ustry Arena, a dedicated area where visitors from the four main industrial sectors – Healthcare, Transport, Retail & Consumer and Architecture & Habitat – can meet with exhibitors, present their challenges and see demonstrations on how additive manufacturing has already produced tangible solutions for industries such as aviation and construction, among others.
IAAC Academic Director Areti Markopoulou is coordinating the Architecture & Habitat segment. In the construction sector Digital Technologies are already tailoring how we design the future of living. As these technologies evolve, our own environment will be again filled with individually crafted products.
Besides scalability scepticism, being able to change how large structures are built opens a paradigm-changing scenario, full of opportunities and freedom of design making our living environment more unique, sustainable and energy efficient.
In the In(3D)ustry Arena will be showcased Video and Prototypes of Master in Advanced Architecture and Open Thesis Fabrication’s projects around Additive Manufacturing such as Piel Vivo, Pylos, Minibuilders, Bio-scaffold, Moss Voltaics, Phriends for Shells and Translated Geometries.
