PROJECT 1. Web gallery for the studio project
The project is based on the studio project: the energy and water plant for the moon settlement. I have created the website to demonstrate our design to the wide public. The pandemic and post-pandemic reality has enhanced the demand for the remote communication greatly but also pushed forward the technologies for the remote work, including the international cooperation. Our studio work was done by the architects from Russia and Portugal, in the class led in Barcelona by the faculty based in different countries. Such experience would have been unthinkable just a decade ago. The telecommunications are changing our entire culture, so the architectural practice cannot be neglecting these tools, indeed. The web page structure is following the logic of the off-line presentation: it is telling the story, starting from the beautiful images to attract attention and then going into more detail. Our design is informed by such site conditions, as the absence of atmosphere and life, low gravity, harsh radiation and extreme temperature difference between day and night. In order to avoid the effect of these at least partly have located all the spaces, intended for humans, underground, leaving only the solar farm equipment and loading facilities on the Moon surface. The construction method for the caves is based on creating the cavities in the regolith by explosion. Consequently, our project largely is largely the interior space, so the focus of the presentation is made on showing the concealed details and the overall spatial structure, circulation et cetera. We had to choose the language of presentation that would allow to see all these but, at the same time, show that all is underground. The visual narrative is arranged like a comic strip, which is the clearest way of telling the story graphically, starting from the hunting scenes in the cave paintings, monumental Hammurappi laws or the Holy history told on the stained glass windows and murals in the European cathedrals. The sequence of images is arranged in lines with even spaces, the static images are clickable for the closer review in the bigger scale. The clicked image opens in the new tab and you cannot go back to the main page, it just stays open in another tab. The following gif animation is not clickable. The title of the web page remains on the top of the screen while scrolling down to the bottom.
PROJECT 2. Dynamic interactive web-presentation of the 3d model
I have created a simple shell in Kangaroo and put it on the appserver giving the user tools to change its height and steepness of the arch
