Procedural Modelling and Associativity
Introduction:
Applications like 123D catch and modeling tool like rhinoceros were to be used to model a 3D object in the vicinity (Monumental).
Procedure:
- The process of modelling a water tap was more challenging than expected considering its intricate details. The photographs once taken were exported to 123D catch and then modeled in rhinoceros 3D.
- Initially, the edges were made using poly lines to get a rough skeleton of the water tap and then using loft command the foundation started building up.
- The commands used for modelling had to be well thought of taking into consideration the scale and proportion of each and every detail.
- Pipe, rail revolve, loft, polar array, patch, extrude were the main commands that were used for the modelling of water tap. The symbol of Ajuntament de Barcelona- Barcelona city council, decorative details at the top and around the tap and at the bottom were amongst the ones which took time to execute in 3D.
Conclusion:
The exercise exposed us to a lot of interesting objects in and around the area and has developed our minds to think in the right direction when it comes to modelling objects. Making the same on site would be a bigger challenge.
