3D Printing_Soft Transitions
We chose to explore how the intensity of light can be manipulated through different thicknesses of material. Through a biaxial internal layering system, an array of light patterns are expressed on the lamp’s exterior. The material density of the lamp varies from top to bottom, the top being denser and allowing less light to go through the material, while the bottom has thinner walls permitting more light to be seen. The simplicity of the exterior of the lamp draws attention to the dynamic nature of the interior where a series of light textures are produced when the light is on.
