Active systems is a research project based on the improvement of air quality in an urban environment constructed with lightweight innovative structures merged with purifying elements that provide an urban optimization and a healthier environment.
PROBLEM
Environmental pollution cost by humans
- Industrial development
- Excessive use of gasoline or diesel vehicles
- High production of non-biodegradable waste
- Deforestation
OBJECTIVE
The idea is to create urban spaces that improve the quality of the citizens in different ways:
- Air quality
- Mobility for cyclists and pedestrians
- Create amenities spaces
- Recovering areas of automobile zones
PURIFYING ELEMENTS
PROJECT DESIGN

SYSTEM & STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS
BEFORE & AFTER
URBAN SYSTEM
- Activation of the system in an urban context
- Starting by selecting the most polluted areas in the city
- Adapt a variety of systems that has a relation with an specific urban element to expand the mitigation of the urban pollutants
