Agorà // A Mexico City Reinterpretation
Agorà is the final project developed for the X-urban design Research studio. This project explores the possibility to use the brutalist infrastructure called “segundo piso” built in Mexico city during the last 20 years. The particular topography of this city offer the opportunity to fit in the context the previous work regarding an ex-novo city developed during the second term. Aim of this project is to adapt a speculative geometry to a real life context and and to reinterpretate a nowaday infrastructure to improve the mobility of the chosen site. the new brutalism infrastructure can be considered as an evolution of the Rudolph linear city. It has the double task to realm the mobility beetween the residencial hills and to offer new spaces for local production of food working area, productive facilities and residential dwellings, all in the same building in order to transcend the original purpose of the Ebenezer Howard’s Utopia
