Our second exercise for Computational Design this semester is that of a parameteric pavilion. We’ve gone about coding it in Grasshopper so there is no geometry linked from Rhino in this method of doing.
The following are concise steps to follow in grasshopper :
STEP 1
FORM CURVE / SEMI CIRCLE
ALONG Y AXIS
RADIUS OF PAVILION – SPAN
STEP 2
EXTEND CURVE IN Y DIRECTION
CLOSED CURVE
STEP 3
EXTRACT SURFACE
STEP 4
SUBDIVIDE SURFACE
STEP 5
INTERMEDIATE POINTS
JOIN CURVE
STEP 6
EXTEND CURVE IN PEPENDICULAR DIRECTION
FORM SURFACE
STEP 7
MAKE CLOSED OBJECT
MRROR
STEP 8
LINEAR ARRAY
LENGTH OF PAVILION
