Concept
The intent of the project is to sense, automate and regulate comfort levels of a space. This is based on the presence of someone in a confined place. The aim is to turn on the fan only if there is someone in the room and the temperature is above a certain threshold
Workflow
An ultrasonic sensor senses presence of something, which automatically turns the LED light on. The photosensor reads the presence of light, and the DHT11 sensor gives the temperature and humidity reading. The Fan/DC motor turns on only if the photosensor or LDR has values, and the temperature is above a 20 degree Celsius

Way Beyond
The next steps could be to start by regulating the fan speed based on the temperature value as well as taking humidity into account. The brightness of LED canb be automated too, based on the time of the day, or by input of values from the photosensor.
Automating Comfort is a project of IAAC, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, developed in the Master in Advanced Architecture (MAA01) 2021/22 Student: Vasudha Karnani, Faculty: Angel Muñoz, Faculty assistant: Antoine Jaunard
