Barcelona | Productivity of the Agricultural Land
This project was developed in relation to the Internet of Cities studio, with the overall purpose of increasing the Carbon Capture in the area of Barcelona.
In the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona approximately 1 million tones of agricultural products were produced in 2019. This project is identifing and visualizing this production.
For doing so, initially, a shape file was classified through QGIS in order to describe the type of crops of the area. Afterwards, two different CSV files were processed through python to relate the crops of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, with the agricultural production per type of crop. In order to understand how the varieties are distributed the final output was visualized using seaborn displot function. Comparing the data we understand that though the monocultures of vineyards, cereals and horticulture possess the highest production scores.
