re[SKIN]ulate – [ION]Tex
Introduction:
An Exercise for the students to understand the science behind the relation between the human skin and artificial skin and design a new cutting edge technology using the present day knowledge to enhance the life of the people living in a particular scenario. From which we took the topic as “re[SKIN]ulate – [ION]Tex”
- The human skin is the outer covering of the body. In humans, it is the largest organ of the integumentary system.
- The skin has multiple layers of ectodermal tissue and guards the underlying muscles, bones, ligaments and internal organs. Human skin is similar to that of most other mammals.
- The adjective cutaneous literally means “of the skin” (from Latin cutis, skin). Because it interfaces with the environment, skin plays an important immunity role in protecting the body against pathogens and excessive water loss.
- Its other functions are insulation, temperature regulation, sensation, synthesis of vitamin D, and the protection of vitamin B folates, as well as become sensorial layers. Severely damaged skin will try to heal by forming scar tissue.
- This is often discolored and depigmented. In humans, skin pigmentation varies among populations, and skin type can range from dry to oily.
- Such skin variety provides a rich and diverse habitat for bacteria that number roughly 1000 species from 19 phyla, present on the human skin.
- As skin ages, it becomes thinner and more easily damaged. Intensifying this effect is the decreasing ability of skin to heal itself as a person ages.
- Among other things, skin aging is noted by a decrease in volume and elasticity, as wel as slower regeneration process.
- There are many internal and external causes to skin aging. For example, aging skin receives less blood flow and lower glandular activity.
What is ION and how ION effect human’s body ? Besides, ION negative itself is a natural way to rejuvenate our body and skin as it will face aging phase.
ION negative could help the skin cells to regenerate faster and slow down the aging phase as well as stimulate your body and mind.
It will also benefit you in recover faster and be healthier, and make our skin better, rejuvenated.
How ION negative released from human’s body ?
How to capture this ION Negative for our body for longer time period?
- What we need is a second skin that could produce or attract negative ion for our body.
- Therefore we try to invent a new material which we named [ION]-Tex.
- First we try with bioplastic, but we realize it may be not resistant enough, and we tried as well with another materials till we found the one that suitable which is silicon.
Final Prorotype
From all the experiment and research, it was figured that the best way to achieve our goal is to combine few steps with turpentine and graphene with the silicon mold, to make sure that the prototype could work.
Being re[SKIN]ulate – [ION]Tex by Your Negative Ion; anywhere, anytime!
- What we need is a second skin that could produce or attract negative ion for our body.

- Then from silicon, we combine it with turpentine and graphene.
- This material that we found could be produce as vary products such as blanket, mask, belt, etc.
- But we thought of for the instant-ity and the simplicity of the people nowadays, we would like to have a simple, small, and functional product of this [ION]Tex, which is easy to wear, anytime, anywhere, and user friendly.
- We conclude our last prototype on the video below. Kindly check it out! 🙂
