About

Arboskin was designed by Stuttgart University’s ITKE Institute with the support of EFRE (Fund), as a bioplastic facade mock up.  Arboskin is composed of a recyclable material , ARBOBLEND, a bioplastic granules. This material could be made into sheets to later be manipulated to the wanted shape, size, or quality of surface by being durable enough to be drilled, printed, laminated, laser cut, or CNC-milled.

ArboSKin shell structure is made of a network of 388 bioplastic triangular shapes and sizes that was digitally fabricated. It demonstrates the possibility of architectonic and constructional applications of bioplastic material in design and build.  The objective of ArboSKin Pavilion was to develop and demonstrate how a bioplastic material could be durable and structural to keep petroleum-based components at a minimum.
