The design for this lamp focused on utilizing the CNC milling machine’s ability to create smooth transitions and connections through space. The initial design is inspired by sea coral chosen for its specific wave-like organization. The cutting file was first organized by a series of curves emulating the growth pattern of the coral. This pattern was then projected onto an intentionally shaped surface, which becomes the upper and lower boundaries of the cutting planes. At the highest points of the surface, the lamp surface is more opaque; at the lowest points, the surface is semi-transparent and the light becomes more diffused.
