Student : Prajakta Panchal
Tutor : Luis Fraguada
Assistant Tutor : Rodrigo Aguirre
Today, it is possible to track the routes of people through various applications and devices which use GPS. This data of tracks could be visualized through softwares, and patterns could be derived out of it. Data visualization in this manner could be a useful design tool especially in urban scale projects.
Concept :
- Tracking 4 students from the Research line Self Sufficient buildings
- Overlaying their paths in different colours
- The map intends to show where all they cross paths apart from IAAC
Methodology :
- Using the given code for KML files to transfer data onto grasshopper
- Using line SDL command to create vertical lines over each point
- Creating rectangles using centre box along these vertical lines
- Baking the tracks of each student in different colours to understand the co-relations between them
Where else do they cross paths?
- Two students cross paths around cafes of Segrada Familia
- Two students cross paths around IAAC (Around copy shop)
- Two students seem to take similar routes to IAAC
- Empty patches between two activities of one person indicates use of subway
