What if the world run out of human resources to feed the population? What if Labs find the solution for saving the humanity through a pill? What would happend with human bodies?
In a distopian world, resources have run out due to an extensive population to feed and the land has been rendered in fertile. A Government funded lab therefore developed a solution to save humanity: That solution came in the form of ; a chemical food pill. Labs began to sell these pills in order to save the global populations.
Some governments made the pill obligatory, regulating public consumption of the pill. Where each person was provided with the “Perfect balance Pill”. This is the pill that has all the vitamins and proteins that the body needs to survive. With these, they also control the amount of energy that each person should have depending on their social status. In some cases supplementing drugs like Adderol to increase productivity in workers.
After thousands of years, this feeding methodology has become the global standard, and humans have evolved as a direct result. These distant relatives do not have teeth, for example, there is no necessity. They have all the same color skin, they do not produce vitamin d12, the brain is smaller, and they do not need problem solving skills (the computer provides everyone with solutions).
This distopian world was shown as an installation in an art gallery as a part of a collective exhibition of MAI students from IAAC, Barcelona.
Installation
The installation consisted in a narrative path through three chapters where people was guided with an audio narrative about the story of humanity in this dystopian world and invited them to the reflexion: in the first one, People was looking a video of the land of the future while they are listening a story about the future of the world; then, they went through a lab curtains to the the second chapter, where was the first approach of the people with the PB1machine of the future, people could interact with the machine. This machine recognized the needs of each people by Facerecognition and gave them the specific pill; on the last chapter people was still listening the story, but in this point its talking about what humanity had become, people looked at a mirror glass, where they recognised them self to this person of the future who had evolutionate .
