FLYING SOUTH FOR THE WINTER
Computational Design | Interacting Modeling
FACULTY | Aldo Sollazzo + Rodrigo Aguirre
PROJECT | Kathleen Bainbridge
The core geometry for the assignment was dirieved from the ‘birds nest’ Olympic arena in Beijing.
The facided nature of the mesh has a similar origen from the ‘swimming cube’ also in Beijing for the Olympic games.
The base system can be applied in a multitide of ways to create a catalog of geometries.
The final shape is a result of the application of forces (including, inflation, gravety loads, line length, anchor points and springs) while also manipulating the number of points to make the mash and the opening sizes around the parimetre.
