The aim of this project is to explore different methods of rationalizing the closed shape to achieve fabrication ready topology using python with grasshopper. The mentioned process was conducted using python – grasshopper connection via hops and flask server. Several algorithms used for mesh analysis were based on different NetworkX algorithms. In order to fabricate the mesh, the optimized algorithm used to stripify the model is the shortest path for triangulated mesh faces. For the fabrication process, the model was later unrolled creating joints “tabs” and a number tag for each strip and finally sent to laser cut using paper as a material.
