GYROID LAMP
Started as an idea to experiment with an organic form. To test the 3D printing to the fullest potential. We came across a form – “Gyroid” which really fascinated us. We started exploring and realised it was do-able. Nevertheless, we went hands-on in Rhino and made a number of additions and deletions. For our test print, we had a module. Once it was two and half hours printed, having discussed further, we realised the amendments and improved the form further by removing the perforations and strengthening our bridges. We also decided to print the final with a translucent material rather than the opaque. Finally, came the form, completely organic and in layers.
