In Barcelona, tourism is an important driving force of the economy. More than 8 million people visit Barcelona each year. Tourism generates an economy around 12 billion Euros each year and around 100,000 jobs in Barcelona.
On the other hand, there is a growing tension between tourists and locals. Locals of Barcelona blamed tourists for number of problems in the city, such as prices hikes, noise, rude behavior of the people and illegal flats.
Hyper Local is an interactive tool that allows locals to connect with the tourist to create new dialogue. The digital tool is focused on the tourist who visit Barcelona for second and third time, where the intention of the tourist is to explore the city in terms of social and culture values. The idea of the tool is to connect tourist with local people, food, events etc. to enhance exchange of culture, knowledge further developing economy.
