// BRIEF

Ideal Indoor Temperature is important for comfort and productivity for humans which can be achieved by controlling the openings of the building but not at the risk the of harmful gases coming  from outdoor to indoor spaces causing ill health conditions due to global warming.

The goal of this project is to find out the BALANCE between both indoor and outdoor giving the user a better air quality with thermal  comfort.

// CONCEPT

Kinetic facades has emerged as a smart building application to tackle sun exposure with indoor heat gain making the building climate responsive.

The project discovers the working of façade by using the mechanism of servo motor with interlinking the sensors by creating waves in the skin to make a breathable structure simultaneously pumping the nutrients to the algae with the movement of the skin while maintaining the temperature and air quality of the space.

Material for façade  – Algae.

One Ocean Thematic Pavilion EXPO 2012, designed by soma

// WORKFLOW

// CONDITIONS

o When Temparature is less than the optimum the servo will not move.

o When Temparature is more than the optimum the servo will move to create the wavy façade.

o Also, when the Air Quality decreases by the change in PPM the servo stops and LED A blinks

o Buzzer makes a tone while servo is active while Lighting up LED B

o Buzzer makes a beep sound while servo is stopped and the LED B is blinking
