For the first assignment of computational design, the task was to mimic a parametric facade and write the script for it. The facade chosen for the assignment was Karstadt building in Dresden by Ferenc Simon and Ivan Fokvari. The facade is mimiced by creating the 3 dimensional polygons on it, afterwards it was interpreted by changing the facade surface itself from being a plane to assigning a curve on it and making it wavy.
step 1: Creating the polygon and transferring it along the x axis
step 2: Moving the polygons along the y-axis, defining the area and setting a curve
step 3: Setting the boundary and extruding the polygons
step 4: Trimming multiple surfaces and constructing a surface from the points
step 5: Transferring the final result to both x and y axis’s by arraying and rotating it along the plane
