In the context of Hyperthermia
Combining suspension 3D printing with bio materials to achieve thermal gain on passive cooling systems.
Problem
During summers in India temperatures rise as high as 42°c – 45°c killing thousands of people across the nation.
Poorly adopted architecture and unsustainable solutions are leading us to further problems and crisis such as global warming and sea level rise. one among the major concern is air conditioning and their after effect to the environment.
Dravidian Architecture a style of architecture that was followed in the southern parts of India which was left behind by not giving a evolution. There is a lot to learn from and a lot to add to Dravidian Architecture. In this research I am taking the few important materials used in Dravidian Architecture and infuse them with modern day fabrication tools and digital tools available to give a experimental evolution to the style.
HY PERTHERMIA
HUMANS NORMAL BODY TEMPERATURE – 35.5C TO 37.5C
IN CASE OF HYPERTHERMIA – 38C
SEVERE CASES – 40C
Heat stroke is a life-threatening form of hyperthermia. Heat stroke occurs when someone’s body temperature increases significantly (generally above 104 degrees Fahrenheit)
Solution
A passive cooling system with the help of bio materials and modern day fabrication tools can help us overcome the problem.
Experimental Shape 3
This tubular channeled structure is more efficient than a straight clay tube and this geometry was further iterated for better results.
Fabrication – Casting & Molding was experimented with 3D printed parts but the geometry started cracking at regular points.
