Robots have been a crucial part of the technical-economic evolution of humanity, counting from the first industrial revolution. Although robotic fabrication processes have enabled great freedom in fabrication, emerging collaborative interfaces which combine robot and human capabilities have the potential to reconnect design exploration with materialization.
Creative Construction will explore interactive and intuitive motion control as a medium to explore non deterministic  robot processes. The workshop will focus on understanding how we engage with matter and the space once we are able to move things precisely, intuitively and interactively.Through this workflow , students will build an environment for construction where human and robots can actively engage within a given space. Engaging scanning technologies, human interface devices, motion tracking  we are placing the robot as a mediating device in a feedback loop which engages simultaneously with the digital and physical world.

Learning ObjectivesStudents can expect to learn the underlying principles of robotic feedback and control, in addition to strategies for the calibration, communication, and synchronization of many technologies. Students will also get hands-on experience on interactive tools to determine robot motion and actuation. In the second phase students will practice on a specific robotic setup via remote control over Internet
