Overview
Climate change is the fundamental reality that needs to be brought into our design consideration. Addressing this reality the seminar worked with an interdisciplinary approach combining topics like biology, computation,
design and technology to map the potential for new urban systems with an aim to develop solutions that can
significantly enhance the climate and water resilience of cities. The project intent of our group was to design a pavement system for urban landscapes that combine these concepts. In this light, TESSELLATE is proposed as an off-grid and self-lit modular floor tile that acts like a bioremediation system.
