THE MOUCHARABIEH

Barcelona enjoys one of the most optimal number of hours of winter daylight in Europe. Days in winter are not as short as in the northern part of the continent, the average hours of daylight in December, January and February is 10 hours (8 hours in other european cities).

The aim of this project is to transform the curtain wall into a “1moucharabieh” that will create nice shadings with the sun.

• Moucharabieh : A mashrabiya (Arabic:???????), also either shansh?l (?????) or r?sh?n (?????), is a type of projecting oriel window enclosed with carved wood latticework located on the second storey of a building or higher, often lined with stained glas
