THE ORCHESTRA

Concept

The Orchestra is an interactive wall installation that appeals to your auditory and visual senses. This project aims to take Orchestral events out of a Concert Hall and place them into the city as Public Art Installations.

The presented prototype is a tile sized component of a more major wall installation.

Input: Proximity
Output: Vertical Movement + Sound +  Light

Mechanism

The Interactive wall activates by your proximity to the structure. As you approach, an Ultrasonic Sensor will evaluate your distance, by reaching 1 meter from this wall a sinuous wave movement along one of the four different segments will be activated. This will followed by the activation of soft ambient lights and harmonious sounds, enabling users to deeply engage with the installation. The users engage with the installation and upon interaction creates variants in tones with respect to their position.
