URBAN CLIFF
//RESEARCH OUTLINE
To address the ageing buildings and the way they have been conditioned in the existing environmental surrounding, by investigating different morphological systems with a bio composite that can generate microclimates that dynamically responds to its context and allow various biodiverse ecosystems to take place.
// CLIFF FORMATIONS
Looking at the morphological, biological formations within a cliff.
// BIOCOMPOSITE
Choosing a soil that can than be used within the development of a biocomposite material research. Generating a catalogue of possible material combinations to achieve different material compositions.
// FABRICATION
To develop a formwork for the biocomposite material to be cast, that can be a representation of a cliff elevation. Than to develop a new tool that can carve out pockets and crevices within the biocomposite, in order to create nutrient pockets within the representation of the cliff for growth to occur. This biocomposite will than be exposed to enhanced weathering conditions for the surface to respond to its environmental condition.
// COMPUTATION
To develop alongside the fabrication method a digital cliff formations that can be used as a formeworm for the surface of the prototype to be cast into.
// ARCHITECTURAL APPLICATION
To develop a vertical cliff system that be applied to an Urban landscape that is responsive and dynamic to its environment.
